April 7, 2024 – Inter-American Division

The Adventist Laymen’s Services and Industries (ASI) Inter-American Division, in partnership with Adventist World Radio (AWR 360°), hosted a highly successful Cellphone Evangelism Training on Sunday, April 7, 2024, specifically designed for the French-speaking territories of the division. The event was held virtually via Zoom and drew over 80 participants from Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, and Haiti.

Themed "Formation à l'évangélisation par téléphone portable" (Training in Cellphone Evangelism), the initiative empowered participants to harness the power of mobile technology to share the gospel in their local contexts. The training was led by Pastor Eduardo Canales, AWR Director for North, Inter-American, and South American Divisions, who provided in-depth, practical guidance on how to effectively use cellphone-based communication to reach souls for Christ.

By the end of the training, most participants had been officially registered as cellphone evangelists, and will now begin receiving witnessing materials in French to support their new role as digital missionaries.

The event was coordinated under the capable leadership of Elder Jean Holder and Elder Fegens Marcius, whose collaborative efforts ensured that the program was well received and impactful. Participants expressed deep appreciation for the training and their excitement about engaging in this innovative form of evangelism.

“This training is a vital step in equipping our members with the tools and confidence to share Christ beyond traditional methods,” said one ASI representative. “We are seeing the gospel go farther and faster through the use of mobile technology.”

The ASI Inter-American Division remains committed to equipping members in all territories with tools for mission, contextualized to their language, culture, and local realities
