Final Workshop Empowers Leaders to Disciple and Nurture New Believers
Miami, Florida – June 6, 2024
The ASI/IAD Evangelism Training Series culminated in its fourth and final session with a timely and impactful presentation on “Retention and Assimilation.” The session was conducted by Pastor Melchor Ferreyra Castillo, Director of Personal Ministries for the Inter-American Division (IAD), and held virtually on June 6, 2024.
Addressing one of the most pressing challenges in church growth and sustainability, Pastor Ferreyra delivered a practical, Spirit-filled workshop on how to effectively integrate new converts into the life of the church. He underscored that evangelism doesn’t end at baptism—it must be followed by intentional discipleship, meaningful relationships, and active involvement in the church community.
Participants from across the division joined the session, expressing deep appreciation for the clarity and urgency of the message. Many commented that the presentation offered concrete strategies and biblical guidance for strengthening local church retention and building long-term member commitment.
This final installment concluded a four-part training series under the Impact 2024 Evangelism Initiative, organized by Adventist Laymen’s Services and Industries (ASI) in collaboration with the Inter-American Division. The full series featured:
-
Dr. Peter Joseph – Capitalising on Evangelism in the Post-Pandemic Era
-
