Bridgetown, Barbados — July 27, 2024 — A spirit of praise and thanksgiving filled the air as the East Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, in association with IAD ASI Mission 2000 & Beyond, hosted the Festival of the Missionaries: Awards & Closing Ceremony on July 27, 2024, at 4:00 PM. This culminating event brought to a close the impactful ASI Mission 2000 & Beyond - Impact Barbados 2024 initiative.
Held under the theme “God on a Mission: Portraits of Grace,” the celebration recognized the outstanding contributions of missionaries and the remarkable outcomes of the mission campaign, including numerous baptisms and transformed lives. Young people from across the region participated with passion and dedication, making a profound impression on local communities and their peers alike.
The closing ceremony was more than just an awards event—it was a grand spiritual celebration acknowledging God's faithfulness and the tireless efforts of the missionaries. Through vibrant worship, testimonies, and expressions of gratitude, attendees praised God for the many lives touched and the powerful impact made across Barbados and beyond.
Special recognition and heartfelt congratulations are extended to the youth participants and to their dedicated facilitator, Sister Marvalee Franklyn, whose leadership and mentorship played a pivotal role in guiding and inspiring this generation of young missionaries.
The presence of flags from multiple nations, as displayed on the event flyer, symbolized the international unity and cooperative spirit that defined this mission project. The Festival served as a vivid reminder of what can be accomplished when young people are empowered to serve and when the gospel is carried forward with boldness and joy.
